At Chicago Music Academy, we believe the best way to become a better musician is to make music with other people. Ensemble learning is at the heart of our approach. Students play together, listen to one another, teach one another, and grow together. The ensemble is one of the most powerful classrooms a musician can have. Our students are surrounded by teachers who are not only educators, but high-level working musicians. Our faculty’s collective experience includes training at institutions such as the Eastman School of Music, Berklee Global Jazz Institute, and DePaul University, as well as teaching at the collegiate level. Faculty accomplishments include receiving a full graduate scholarship to Berklee, a Luminarts Jazz Fellowship, the Schirmer Prize of Excellence, recognition as Buffalo’s Ex-Pat Jazz Artist of the Year, and selection for the JAS Academy.

Our teachers have performed and recorded with internationally recognized artists and ensembles, toured across the country and around the world, and appeared on stages throughout Chicago’s professional music scene.
